Accreditation and
Certification Management
Membership
retention is all about membership value. One area some
associations are involved in is the accreditation or
certification of members. In order for this process to be
meaningful, records must be kept and membership must
remain in good standing. The accreditation process may be a
simple one where an examination is written to prove
expertise at a given point in time. Or certification may be
an on-going process where re-certification is required after
a given period of time. Knowing who is certified and who is
not means keeping good records which can be retrieved
quickly, thus the need for a specialized database.
Few accreditation
or certification processes are the same. The screen below
was designed for the Canadian Public Relations Society (CPRS)
to track their accreditation process called APR (Accredited
Public Relations Professional). Other associations, such as
the Independent Financial Brokers of Canada (IFBC), have
more elaborate certification processes requiring specific
points being accumulated towards specific areas of
expertise.

Whether it's a
simple years of employment in a given profession, or
complicated examinations and work product presentations, tracking
is essential to ensure the integrity of the process and thus,
the value of the accreditation or certification. If you have
such a need, contact us to see what we can fashion for you
based on our experience with other associations.
