Main Subscriber Search Screen
 

The Subscriber Search Screen is where you look for subscribers. Based on the method you've chosen to sort the names, the screen jumps to the closest subscriber matching your input. If you're sorting by last name, as you key in the person's last name the screen automatically finds the closest match as every character is entered. The window on the top portion of the screen tells you if the subscriber in your data base is active or not. Active means they have a subscription to the current publication, Inactive means they don't. If you hit the Add button or press the F2 key, you'll be taken to the main add/edit screen.

Hitting Add allows you to add a new record for both subscriber address data and subscription data for the current publication. If an existing subscriber is "Inactive", meaning they do not have a subscription to current publication, the Add with Addr Info button becomes the Activate Pub button. The Activate Pub button allows you to add a subscription to the current publication for the current subscriber. The Add with Addr Info button duplicates the company and address information for the current subscriber, leaving blank the name information, so you can add a new subscriber at that address without having re-enter the information.

If you want to change which publication you are working in, you'd use the current publication pull-down menu and choose the desired one. If you want to just make a quick address change which does not involve any subscription changes, you'd hit the Change Address button. If you have the Survey and/or Merchandise modules, the related buttons will be active and you can add entries from this screen.
